Progressive solutions for building with ICF

Builders today are faced with more challenges than ever before. In a difficult market, they must deliver structures that save money on heating and cooling, deliver the strength and durability to withstand extreme weather conditions, and remain cost competitive at the same time. Building with insulating concrete forms (ICF) can deliver all of these benefits.

When building with ICF, contractors historically have chosen an 1157 portland limestone cement for their concrete. However, with buyers' heightened interest in building greener structures, builders are beginning to use blended or slag cements like Holcim's Envirocoreā„¢ line of products. Some builders use as much as 70% slag in the mix, which lengthens the set time; however, since the ICF provides an existing mold for the concrete, using more slag does not slow construction time. In addition, because Envirocore products contain less raw virgin material, they help reduce the carbon intensity of your ICF structures and may help your projects earn LEED credits.

You can order Holcim cements with complete peace of mind, knowing they are tested in our own laboratories. We also confirm these results at both independent facilities and major universities to ensure you get consistent performance. With our network of plants located around the country, you can get the cements you need, when you need them.

In addition to reliable performance and availability, you can count on our staff of renowned technical service engineers and LEED Accredited Professionals to become your partners, consulting with you and helping you to stay current on critical industry developments, including increasingly greener products and standards.
