The Gygi and von Wyss Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for the qualified children of eligible employees of Holcim US and its family of companies operating under the name Holcim (US) Inc., Holcim - ACM Management, Inc. and their wholly-owned subsidiaries.
We believe the scholarship program is an investment in the future and one of the exceptional benefits offered to our employees. Including awards to the 2023 scholarship recipients and to past recipients, the Foundation will disburse approximately $184,000 next year to support the children of our employees in their academic endeavors.
In 2023, a maximum of eight scholarship recipients will receive up to $24,000 towards a four-year college program, with $6,000 provided per year, $3,000 per semester. The scholarship award can be used towards tuition, fees, and books. Students are required to have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize your child’s academic excellence and to supplement college expenses.
The program is open to students attending college the Fall of 2023 pursuing a 4-year degree program, not just graduating High School Seniors! Click here for the digital application form.
Scholarships will be offered to students who meet the requirements, and are chosen by the Foundation's Scholarship Committee. All applications must be received by the Foundation no later than January 31, 2023 to be eligible for consideration. The 2023 Scholarship Documents and Frequently Asked Questions documents are available via the Gygi and von Wyss Scholarship Program link on the HR landing page on the intranet. Eligibility is outlined on the Employee Information Bulletin.
This scholarship was established in 1983 to recognize the accomplishments of the children of Holcim employees. The award honors the memories of Hans Gygi and Marc R. von Wyss, two former leaders of Holcim and its predecessor companies.
Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2023.
